Workers Monument

To honour the workers involved in the construction of EXPO 2020 Dubai, their names were immortalised on cylindrical columns. In total, over 200,000 names were written on 38 columns.

The columns are meant to represent the different lunar cycles from new moon to full moon. Especially during eclipse, this becomes clear through the illumination of the columns.

Our task was to provide a luminaire that brightly illuminates the respective column but does not glare anyone. Thus, we supplied our curved LED LightLines with extra strong LED modules.

The distance between lines and stone was made with a minimal tolerance of 10mm.
