Piz Seteur

Selva - Val Gardena, Italia
© Harald Wisthaler

The planning of the valley station of Piz Seteur was inspired on the one hand by the profiles of the surrounding mountains and on the other hand by the two main sports practiced in this area, skiing and mountain biking. The goal was creating a perfect harmony between dynamism, power, technology and nature and to merge the building with the surrounding natural alpine landscape.

The architects choose brushed larch wood, the tables used were in fact treated with abrasive brushes that removed the softer part of the wood, providing them with a darker color more similar to the neighboring forest.
