From-1st is a 35 year-old multi-tenant building that first sparked the development of Aoyama’s Miyuki Dori. This project involved the renovation of one of the building’s spaces, converting a generous two-storeyed interior in this historical landmark into an office for a creative business.

The upper floor that looks onto the lower level houses a private office that also serves as a presentation room. The manager’s office is connected to the lower floor via a staircase.

Direct sunlight entering the stairwell is scattered and diffused by the screen partitions, filling the three constituent spaces of the office with a soft glow. The loosely demarcated spaces, combined with a host of minute details, help to create a feeling of openness in a space conducive to smooth, uninterrupted creative work.
