150 Camden at Douglass Park is a new construction residential apartment building located in the Lower Roxbury Neighborhood of Boston. The developer, The Hamilton Company, worked with Hacin to design this new, five-story building with 44 residential units that was built on a vacant lot in the neighborhood. The design of the building draws on the rhythm and scale of nearby South End buildings on Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue, while the materiality and placement of the brick exercises a contemporary interpretation of the mansard roof condition. The “head” of the building – at the intersection of Tremont and Camden Streets – exaggerates the treatment of material at the repeating bays and geometrically relates to its neighbor, creating a strong focal point along Camden Street.
