Working environments of the future
Activity Based Working (ABW) requires an optimal environment for effective office work and, hence, an architectural concept for flexibility and diversity. ATP architects engineers and its subsidiary Mint Architecture cooperated closely with their client, Roche Diagnostics International AG, to develop a forward-looking ABW concept for the Roche Campus at Rotkreuz/Zug that was closely tailored in line with the company’s existing structures and future requirements. The project covers a number of buildings of the Swiss pharmaceuticals group, which were revitalized through the creation of modern office landscapes for flexible working. The sustainable and user-oriented remodeling of the spaces took into account their spatial qualities and functions and the diverse activities and desires of the employees. Now, the individual buildings and stories form a harmonious whole with a consistently high quality, attractive design, and varied mix of working zones that contribute to the increased levels of satisfaction and productivity of the workers. The project clearly demonstrates how targeted planning and user involvement can ensure the successful implementation of a forward-looking office concept.
