At Gounodstr. 25, an ensemble for GESOBAU AG has been planned and realized as part of urban infill, consisting of a street-side gap closure and a courtyard development with four quaint garden houses and two sheds. The placement of the courtyard development allows for a diverse sequence of private and semi-public spaces in the open space planning, thus supporting the concept of a modern ensemble for family-friendly living in the heart of Berlin-Weißensee. The monolithic construction method allowed for the omission of the otherwise typical external thermal insulation. Compact and efficient floor plans in the front building (multi-family house with subsidized apartments), spacious garden houses (single-family homes), and contemporary maisonette apartments provide livable space for all generations and support a wide arrange of needs.
